All Glory to God - Romans 11:35-36

All Glory to God - Romans 11:35-36 - Proclamation Coalition

“Or who has given a gift to him that he might be repaid?” For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen. Romans 11:35-36

On the very first page of the Bible, we are told that the sun is the greater light that rules the day, and the moon is a lesser light to shine in the night.

The moon reflects sunlight to illuminate the night. A lesser light to reflect a greater light.

All glory given to God first comes from God.

Even before the creation of the world, the moon, or the sun, all glory is completely God’s. Before we ever prayed a prayer, sang a note, or even said “all glory to God,” He completely possessed it all.

Therefore, His glory cannot increase. It’s impossible to give God new glory or add to what He already is. But we can display His glory more by following Christ, who did so perfectly. (John 17:1)

So, make it your aim to give all glory to God. Let your choices, your work, your words, and your generosity point directly to God. But remember, the very foundation of our worship is not that we are supplying God with what He needs; it’s that we are giving back to God and reflecting to the world that which is already His. He is the beginning and the end, the source of all glory.

We live in the present age of darkness, and we are like the moon in this way: we shine, but we are not the source. Our job isn’t to generate light; it’s to reflect The Light. We shine as we stay turned toward Him.

We can remind the world that the Son is there, as we reflect Him more and more with our lives.

Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16”

May we stay fully turned toward the Son, so that His light is unmistakable while it is still night.
