Sent With Love - John 3:16

Sent With Love - John 3:16 - Proclamation Coalition

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

I have this simple practice of reading a list of Bible verses and drawing the first thing that comes to mind. It helps me slow down long enough to really see the Scripture. To think about it in a new way.

A while back, when I was doodling, I came across John 3:16–the classic verse– and as my pen hit the paper, I began to draw a postage stamp…

As I sat with this image, these words filled my mind: Delivered. Received. Freedom. Forever. Paid in Full. Sent. It struck me how many of them belong to both the Gospel and the US postal system. Someone thinks of you, sends something meaningful, and it’s delivered, but it only becomes yours when it’s received…this is John 3:16.

And here’s where the gospel came into even more focus for me: postage stamps last forever. If it cost five cents decades ago, it’s still valid today…even if the cost has gone up.

Stay with me.

Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. Before we were born. Before we could respond. God knew that the sum of our debt would continue to grow far beyond what we could ever pay. And yet, in one moment of perfect love, Christ paid it all. For those who receive Him, the price was paid in full in that moment. No matter how high the future debt would rise, the payment stands. He counted the cost and paid it in full. Forever.

God sent His Son to be delivered over to death, so that all who would receive Him might be delivered from sin into freedom. Not conditionally. But forever.

I hope this fun design helps illuminate the Gospel's message for you, even in a small way, as it did for me. And helps you deliver the message of Jesus to the world.

Jesus was sent with love, now so are you.
