Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:10-11
“Take up the full armor of God.”
“Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.”
“Fight the good fight of the faith.”
“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
The Bible is clear: We’re not civilians of this world. We’re soldiers of Heaven. We are in the army of the Lord, and whether we realize it or not, there is a battle raging on for our souls.
But here’s the problem: we forget. We forget there’s a real spiritual war happening all around us. We forget that our battle isn’t against flesh and blood, but it's against the rulers of the dark forces in this world.
Rulers of darkness. That doesn’t sound too good. Definitely doesn’t sound easy. And yet, how often do we stand there, passive, unarmed, unaware? How often do we end up getting knocked down, feeling like we're losing a battle we didn’t even realize was going on?
How can you win a battle you don’t know you’re in? Answer: You can’t. The war is real. The enemy is real. The battle goes on, and there is only one way to win. Join the Lord’s army.
The emblem on this shirt is a reminder of where our strength comes from. The dove stands for the Spirit of the Lord, our true and only source of power. In one foot, it’s holding an olive branch — the peace Jesus promised in John 16:33: "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart; I have overcome the world." In the other, it takes hold of the flaming arrows — the lies, the fear, the attacks that the enemy launches at us — showing they have no power against our faith (Ephesians 6:16). And from its mouth, the battle cry: "No weapon shall prosper." (Isaiah 54:17)
The enemy will come after you. The weapons will be formed. The flaming arrows will fly. You will be afflicted. You will be attacked. You will be pushed to your limits. But if you’re standing firm in the Lord, you won’t fall. You won’t waiver.
"We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed." 2 Corinthians 4:8-9
In this world, we fight for freedom, to maintain freedom, and to restore freedom.
But in the Kingdom of God, we fight from freedom. The freedom that is already ours. We fight not for victory, but from the victory we already have in Christ Jesus. This is not just a winning battle – in the Kingdom of Heaven and the Lord’s Army, we are fighting a WON battle.
You are in the Lord’s army. The question is: are you fighting like it?
