What We Believe

Christ Alone

We believe that Christ’s atonement on the cross is the only way to salvation and His miraculous resurrection is the only source for true life.

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Scripture

We believe all scripture is breathed out by God, entirely trustworthy and true, without error, and is our source of truth to defend convictions from the spirit and rebuke sin within the body.

2 Timothy 3:17 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existing as one being and essence and three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, each of whom is fully God, yet there is one God.

2 Corinthians 13:14, Isaiah 44:6, John 10:30, Matthew 28:19, 2 Corinthians 1:21-22, Ephesians 4:4-6

Creation and Providence

We believe that God created the world from nothing and that He governs all things in all places at all times.

Colossians 1:16-17 For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

Humanity

We believe that all people are created in the image of God and possess inherent dignity and worth.

Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

Sin

We believe that all are sinful, no one is good, and that sin has broken all things, leaving the world in desperate need of Salvation.

Romans 3:10  As it is written, there is none righteous, not even one.

Romans 3:23  For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Salvation

We believe that salvation comes through faith, by grace alone, in Christ alone. We believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins. If our faith and salvation in Christ is true, then we will be spurred on to do good works.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.

Body

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ sent into the world to proclaim the good news of Christ, and shine forth the glory of God.

Ephesians 4:16 - From whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

Proclamation

We believe that faith comes by hearing, and that the proclamation of the body is the hope to the world for the revealing of salvation through Christ.

Romans 10:17  So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

Romans 10:13-18

Christ's Return

We believe that Jesus will return the world to judge the living and the dead, and make all things new.

1 Thessalonians 1:10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead, that is Jesus, who rescues us from the wrath to come.
